General Overview of Our Program Philosophy

APE Center believes that experiential learning, using various teaching styles and hands-on class activities, achieves long-lasting academic, social and personal development objectives. Students who have their basic educational needs met in a variety of educational formats, along with Responsive Classroom philosophy, are better overall students.

Our programs use various Art forms -Visual Arts, Theater, Dance and Music-
as tools providing the students with a wide range of hands-on activities to enable multi-sense learning. Children learn new ways to practice skills needed for core curriculum subjects in a playful way, and be more likely to succeed at passing standardized tests.

APE Center’s programs are designed to integrate with the core subject standards for the particular grade level. Extra focus is aimed at enhancing team work and a mutual support instead of competitiveness.

The after-school programs take place in schools, community centers or libraries. Some of them are currently happening at ARTS/West, Athens, OH.

These programs are designed to aid the socialization and peer-interaction of the participants. We cover various topics from bullying to self-esteem and friendship. There are also support groups available for after-school.

These programs are for home-schooler groups.

Educational Theater and Concerts:
These shows take place on or off school premises.

Special Programs:
These are half and whole year school-wide programs that focus on Character Education. We come to your school to organize and present the program. These programs encourage cooperation, teamwork, and interaction across a wide range of ages.
