December 2005:
Production of “Jackie and the Giant” at ARTS/West, Athens, OH. "Jackie and the Giant" is an interactive educational show promoting tolerance and diversity. This production was the beginning of the relationship with ARTS/West Athens' performing arts gateway. "Jackie and the Giant" was co-written by Domi Adamova for teaching English as a second language in European schools, and was adapted by her for this performance.
Spring 2006 – Fall 2006:
Domi Adamova led several workshops focusing on enhancing students’ social skills through theater techniques. The workshops took place at ARTS/West, Athens, OH.
Winter 2006 - Summer 2007:
The first of the two-part anti-bullying program “Bully-Proof School” was created and successfully piloted by Domi Adamova at West Elementary School in Athens, OH. The second part of this program is planned there for the fall of 2007.
Spring 2007:
Especially for West Elementary school (Athens, OH), as their annual show, Domi Adamova wrote and directed an educational musical “Jasmine and Juniper”. The whole production was a special project enhancing students’ self-esteem, cooperation and team-building skills. "Jasmine and Juniper" included 120 students at the school in its production. It was a cooperative effort produced with close community involvement. (The show has also been adapted for a small-cast ensemble in order to present its' message about the importance of friendship and successful social skills to more schools in a future production planned in cooperation with ARTS/West.)
Spring 2007:
Domi Adamova addressed CJ Kearns and Chris Crews to help her formalize her goal to create an educational center bringing projects like those already piloted at West Elementary and ARTS/West to other southeastern Ohio schools. They all committed to the idea of progressive Arts-and-Character Education-focused school program, and the APE Center was officially registered as a non-profit organization in June of 2007.
