The Appalachian Progressive Education (APE) Center's mission is to provide high-quality progressive educational programs to school students and homeschoolers in Southeast Ohio.
The APE Center brings the Arts and classroom together by merging multiple core curriculum subjects with theater, visual art, music, and dance to fulfill academic standards from
pre-K to grade 6. These programs are offered during-school hours as well as after-school.
The APE Center's Character Education, along with Responsive Classroom philosophy, involves the Arts as a means to teach socialization, communication and conflict resolution.
The APE Center’s comprehensive approach to learning integrates continuing professional development for teachers and school counselors, as well as professional development opportunities for local and in-school artists.
